TOURIST - Ifs and Buts (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
Lyrics: I woke up as a tourist
In a town where I didn’t know the streets
She pointed to a diner
She said that’s where we both should meet
The odds of making friends with a stranger
Isn’t always perfectly clear
You need to know whose hand you shake
Before you make, before you break
There’s something waiting for you round the corner
You look scared
You’re a goner.
Tour guide took me roaming
On a street oh so fine
He said no one’s been around here
For a day and ninety-nine.
I asked him, “Why what happened?”
He said this place was haunted by
A girl in white clothing
He didn’t know the answer why.
The odds of making friends with a stranger
Isn’t always perfectly clear
You need to know whose hand you shake
Before you make, before you break
There’s something waiting for you round the corner
You look scared
You’re a goner.
Then we turned the corner
And she was standing there
The guide screamed
Save me, please…
We ran helter skelter for shelter…
You’ve never heard of Jamsteady at Princeton Club? Are you new to Calcutta? If yes, don’t worry you’ll find out soon enough. If no, you’re a…you’re a…forget it!
The Jamsteady gigs that go down at Princeton have some interesting artists playing mainly original music to what has become a dedicated audience.
Here are 5 simple reasons (in no particular order) you should drop all your other Friday plans and find your way to Princeton Club-
The booze is cheap. Actually, you can scratch that. A 60ml shot of rum is 100 bucks. That’s not cheap, that is perfectly priced. Here’s the math, if you buy 5 shots (500 INR for the mathematically-challenged), you’re bound to end up very happy by the end of the night. Trust us, we know.
The crowd is lovely. This point is actually in direct relation to the aforementioned one. Once everyone’s had a shot too many, ear-to-ear smiles are the order of the night. It’s like a Happydent commercial under dim lights. Very cute. But seriously, everyone’s just out to have a good time.
Things like this happen. ‘Nuff said.

It’s recently gone indie. So what if the sponsor’s gone for a walk. Jamsteady is still going strong. There’s a small little box labeled ‘Band fund’ or something along those lines. Donate generously. We do…sometimes.
…and the music. Oh yes. Live music happens here. Very good music. Pop music, rock music, electronic music, all kinds of music.
So there you have it. Did we mention the entry’s free? You should drop by.

Hey folks, hope the new year’s treating you well. Our latest single Tourist will be out soon. Besides Soundcloud, we’ll be releasing a video on Vimeo, as well. Stay tuned.
Till then, here are the lyrics…

A blog post isn’t easy, nor is it tough. It’s one of those things that you should do from time to time, but forget about. It’s like getting a text from someone and thinking you’ll reply in a while. That never really happens. At least, for me it doesn’t.
Anyway, I’m writing this to tell you all about how we’re planning an 8-song album early next year. We thought about another EP but then realized that it’s going to be much tougher to leave out songs now than it was on the debut EP. Along with that, we’ll also put in some additional artwork and a booklet with some interesting content related to our time as Ifs and Buts.
Coming back to the songs, I still feel we have a long way to go with them. Ones like ‘Letters’ and ‘What you get’ have evolved before our eyes. New tracks like ‘Up and Above’, ‘People’, ‘Somebody’ are still floating around and there’s still a long way to go before we have one particular way of performing them. Maybe we won’t.
“If you were” seems to have caught on well so you can expect that on the record for sure. And yes, we’re doing this one independently, as well.
Whatever happens I just wanted to tell you lovely people that the idea for an album is swirling in our heads and the songs that get in will be more story-like unlike the past ones. We’re thinking of a few collaborations as well. Let’s see how things work out. I’ll keep you posted. See you around.
